Thailand:

1. General description of why an area is selected
The reason of why the following sites are selected is that these sites are the representative areas for main rivers and coastal areas in Thailand. The four main rivers is facing the risk of pollution by organic pollutants from land base activities in areas including agricultural area, industrial area and domestic area. In rainy season, there are many water flooding problems. As river water discharges to the ocean, it might have negative effects on coastal area of Thailand.
