It is held jointly by UNU, Ocean Research Institute of the University of Tokyo and the Iwate Prefectural Government. This is the fourth in a series of workshops that was initiated in 1999 including participation by young scholars and researchers representing the countries in Asia and the Asia-Pacific island nations. Fourth UNU-INWEH - UNESCO International Course on Biodiversity in Mangrove Ecosystems, Annamalai University, India, 5-19 April, 2004 A multidisciplinary team of lecturers will focus on assessing, monitoring and conserving biodiversity in mangrove ecosystems. A limited number of fellowships are available to qualified candidates from developing countries.
