Dr. Fukuya Iino joins the UNU Project
From September 2004, Dr. Fukuya Iino joins as Academic Programme Officer, and he will be based at the UNU Centre in Tokyo.

After receiving a Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1999, Dr. Iino successfully proposed long questioned formation mechanisms of dioxins in incinerators as a postdoctoral researcher at the United States Environmental Agency.

In 2001, Dr. Iino's interests in chemical management and environmental governance led him to accept a position as a principal investigator at the Research Center for Chemical Risk Management, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, in Tsukuba, Japan. Dr. Iino has served as an expert delegate from Japan to the OECD, was an editorial member for "Chemistry and Education" published by the Chemical Society of Japan, a board member for the Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan and most recently was awarded a fellowship from the Dreyfus Foundation (New York,USA) which he used to conduct research at the University of Connecticut, USA.

Dr.Iino has joined the UNU as Academic Programme Officer since September 2004. He will continue his work in environmental governance and sustainable development.
