UNU-ORI Joint International Workshop on Marine Environment
Tokyo and Otsuchi, Japan; 21-26 February, 2000
The
UNU (the United Nations University) and ORI (Ocean Research Institute
of the University of Tokyo) Joint International Workshop for Marine
Environment jointly organized the International Workshop on Marine
Environment at Otsuchi Marine Research Center, Iwate, Japan from
21 to 25 February, 2000. It was financially supported by Iwate
Prefectural Government.
About
40 scientist from 8 Asian countries namely Indonesia, Malaysia,
Philippines, Republic of China, Republic of China, Republic of
Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan participated this workshop.
This workshop included seminars on the following issues: biodiversity,
a new approach regarding the biological study on marine animals,
behavior of marine animals, marine pollution, environmental governance,
and other research activities carried at ORI.
